Selanjutnya Studying Music Majors? Why Not
0
0
A MUSIC MAJOR studies music theory, music composition and music history. Music majors were often heavily involved in some sort of music activity in high school – whether band, orchestra or chorus. Undergraduate music students must be passionate about their major because it involves a lot of time and practice dedicated to their instrument. A music major studies a particular instrument – whether trombone or voice, piano or violin – and also takes music theory and composition courses, music history classes, and classes related to sharpening aural skills. Music majors perform in front of their peers and audiences, and they practice to hone their art. To be accepted to an undergraduate music program, applicants may be required to audition live. Some schools require prospective students to send in an audio or video audition before inviting applicants to audition in person. There may be requirements for the audition based on a student’s particular instrument or composition style. Some music majors will end up being professional musicians, while others work in the industry in music education, artist representation or arts administration.
